The greatest benefit that Sculptra® offers is the duration of results after the treatment. The product gradually improves the volume of your skin on portions of your face where sun exposure and the natural aging process have taken their toll. Because of its particularly thick texture, it’s not uncommon for it to last far longer than other dermal fillers on the market.

Sculptra® is primarily used in and around the cheeks, but our skilled Nurse Practitioner can produce excellent results by administering it to the jawline to lift your neck and face, and to the forehead to lift your brow or your temples to improve your eyes.

If you’re unhappy with wrinkles or fine lines around your mouth, or eyes you may be a good candidate for this treatment. Sculptra® is also a good choice if your goal is to improve the volume of sagging areas without having to resort to plastic surgery.

Sculptra® is administered immediately below your skin’s surface to the areas of your face that are most affected by fat loss. The thickness of your skin naturally diminishes with age, and it works to restore this thickness. Most patients notice results after just a few treatments. Although the product will not address the underlying cause of facial fat loss, it will improve your appearance by enhancing the thickness of your skin in the targeted areas.

Your doctor will determine how many treatments you require and how much Sculptra® will be needed at each session. People who have extensive facial fat loss may need to return to our office for as many as three to six additional treatments.

After your initial treatment, you may think that Sculptra® has immediately provided results, but this is merely caused by post-injection swelling and the water that was used to thin out the product. After several days, this swelling will disappear, and your body will absorb the water, leaving you looking the way you did prior to treatment. Sculptra® works gradually to correct lost skin volume and sagging. But within that time, the body begins to stimulate collagen bonds throughout a 4-6 week period where the true results are more obvious.

The results of treatment will vary for each person. In one clinical study, the results were still noticeable after two years in the majority of patients.
